I can't wait to get him finished and head for the trails!!

Welcome to our new website!

Just wondering, will this forum be taking the place of the Yahoo group (I think it's called the Edge)?

Trail Horse for Sale

Marvin, 7 year old black registered quarterhorse gelding for sale

I don't have that many exciting stories yet to tell about my horses, but I guess I'll share what happened today. We live on about 2 1/2 acres and have 2 horses, so there's not enough grass to go around for everybody, especially through the winter. For that reason, we've divided our grass into three sections - the section right in front of the barn is what we've sacrificed for them to be out on this winter, and it's either a mud pit or a frozen mess right now.

Anyways, this morning, when I fed the boys hay and let them out, I didn't tie one of the gates shut. I just propped it up on a cinder block, which had not been a problem over the last week or so. Apparently, though, my boys are getting restless. My wife looked outside just in time to see one of them nudging it open, and then, after they figured out what they'd just done, both horses ran out into the grass they haven't been on since last fall. Oh, they had a good time. We laughed as they chased each other, bucked, rolled, and wore off some energy they've been storing up for a long time. It was great to see them having a good time, but not so great to see one of our better patches of grass getting trampled and having mud thrown all over it.

Oh well! We left them out there for about 10 minutes until they started munching grass, and then I went out and brought them back to the barn.

So that's my story for now... anybody else got a winter boredom horse story?
