Randy and Pam Bice headed up the annual National Trails Day clean-up at Potato Creek as they do every year and did a fantastic job as always.
Rumor has it that some of the Stimulus money has trickled down to the State Parks and they are able to hire more summer help than usual so this year instead of fixing hitch rails or clearing trails of fallen trees we got to actually clean from the back of our horses! Most of us mounted up and armed with pruning shears we rode out to clear the trails of over hanging branches, grape vines and rose bushes.
One new member brought her Jeep instead of a horse and some of the gals piled into it and they headed out to clear the worst trail, the loop that goes along SR 4.
After that we all got together at Randy and Pam's campsite to eat Brats and burgers that Randy cooked over his campfire. The rest of us brought various dishes and no one went hungry!
This was a great time for members to meet other members they didn't know and new friends and riding buddies were made that day.
